We Need Good Horses!
Following years of faithful service, several of our dedicated therapy horses have left us for greener pastures. Their well-deserved retirement has left Helen Woodward Animal Center's Therapeutic Riding program in need of some new horses to work with our physically and mentally challenged riders.
Do you have a horse that you can donate to this wonderful, deserving program?
Do you know someone who currently has a horse that may be our next Therapeutic Riding superstar? Here's what we're looking for: Gentle, bomb-proof horses Geldings No more than 15.2 hands high If you have, or know of a horse that you think would be beneficial to our program, please contact Helen Woodward Animal Center.
Potential therapy horses will be evaluated for health, ability, and temperament. Horses accepted for the program will be moved to Helen Woodward Animal Center's Therapeutic Riding stables in Rancho Santa Fe for a 3-month evaluation and training period before being accepted for full time service.
