For 50 years, Helen Woodward Animal Center has been committed to the philosophy of “people helping animals and animals helping people”. The goal of the Center is not only to save the lives of orphan pets but to also provide valuable community services that strengthen the animal-human bond through education and training. We do this through our many programs like Therapeutic Riding for children and adults with special needs, AniMeals pet food delivery for seniors and other home-bound individuals, and Pet Encounter Therapy which brings the comfort, unconditional love, and tactile benefits of animals to individuals in settings such as nursing facilities, hospitals, and shelters and Pets Without Walls which supports the health of pets of those experiencing homelessness in San Diego County. These programs are just some of the vital community services that we offer to animals and people in need. Please join us in making a difference!
Show off your pet’s best pose and save lives! Entering is easy as 1, 2, 3!
- Submit the best photo of your pet in their favorite San Diego location. (e.g. Iconic San Diego beaches, trails, monuments)
- Share it with your family and friends, so they can cast their vote
- Garner the most votes and watch your pet climb to the top
To enter: The entry fee is $30 and includes 30 votes for your pet. All additional votes are $1 each.
ALL entries will appear in the calendar.
The pet with the most votes will be Helen Woodward Animal Center's "San Diego's Finest and Furriest" and will be awarded the following prizes:
- A full-page feature in the 2024 Helen Woodward Animal Center calendar
- A guest seat at the 2024 Surf Dog Costume Contest Judge’s Panel
- 2 silver tickets to the 2024 Spring Fling Gala
In addition, the 1st place and 2nd place runner-ups will be awarded prizes. The top 11 pets with the most votes will also have a full-page feature in the 2024 Helen Woodward Animal Center calendar, and one pet will be selected by Nelson Photo & Video.
All other entries will appear in photo montage squares throughout the calendar.
