“Spooktacular” People*Pet Walk this Saturday Afternoon, October 24 

Rancho Santa Fe, CA – Dogs, a few brave cats, and pretty much any other critter with or without legs, feathers, skin, or fur will take part in Helen Woodward Animal Center’s 19th annual “Spooktacular People*Pet Walk presented by Iams” this Saturday afternoon, October 24 from 1:00 to 6:00 PM in Rancho Santa Fe.  

“This is a fun event for anyone who loves animals,” says spokesman John Van Zante. “Some people have taken part every year since Helen Woodward Animal Center held San Diego’s first Walk for Animals in 1991.”  

Van Zante says that the People*Pet Walk is for everyone. “We’ll see families as well as single dog owners hoping to meet other single dog owners. There will be couples whose pets are their children and others just getting some exercise, learning about new pet products, and entering the contests. But you don’t need a pet to be a part of this event.” 

HWAC Sponsorship Manager Nedra Abramson says, “It’s going to be a Spooktacular time at Helen Woodward Animal Center's 19th Annual People*Pet Walk. Walkers will choose a one or two-mile walk with their pets, enter the animal costume contest, or enjoy the educational family-friendly haunted house as well as Trick or Treat with exotic animals.” 

“We’re expecting several teams of walkers,” says Van Zante. “There will be breed owner groups, co-workers, church groups, and neighborhood clubs. They’re all welcome at the 19th annual Spooktacular People*Pet Walk.”  

Proceeds of the 19th annual Spooktacular People*Pet Walk presented by Iams help Helen Woodward Animal Center to fund year-round programs for animals and people in-need.  

Registration forms are available online. Day-of-event registration and check-in begin at 1:00 followed by the walks at 2:00 and the Spooktacular Costume Contest at 3:30.

  •             5 - 6:    TRICK OR TREATING WITH THE ANIMALS!

Plus:     The kid-friendly haunted house, arts and crafts, dog agility course, carnival games, and treats for kids and dogs!
