A surf event benefiting Helen Woodward Animal Center

WHAT IS SURF DOG SURF-A-THON?

This unique non-competitive event is a fantastic way to spend the day catching waves while supporting the animal and human service programs at Helen Woodward Animal Center. The number of waves caught in one hour by each participant determines the amount of money they can raise for this worthy cause. Also, surfers, families, and pet owners can enjoy the Del Mar beach and sun, check out new pet and surf products at sponsor booths, and participate in fun games!

Dogs can get in on the action too! There will be a 30 minute dog surfing contest and a Beach Bum and Bikini Babe Canine Costume Contest, with fantastic prizes!

WHAT IS THE FORMAT?

Surfers estimate the number of waves they will catch in a one hour heat and encourage friends and family to sponsor them per wave. On event day, surfers will be included in one of three-hour long heats to meet their wave catching goal and raise funds for an amazing charity!
