What is the Calgary Humane Society?
The Calgary Humane Society is a cause-based organization born from a need for animals to be recognized as significant beings. Cruelty and neglect are not acceptable to our society, whether it is towards animals or people. As the community struggles to right the wrongs towards its human members, the Calgary Humane Society is there to speak on behalf of the animals.
The Calgary Humane Society moved into a brand new state of the art facility in 2006 and currently offers a full service veterinary clinic for shelter animals, cutting edge educational programs, behavioral experts, an extensive post-adoption support system, over 500 dedicated volunteers, a wildlife referral network and many ongoing partnerships with vets, the City of Calgary and other animal welfare organizations.
The past and future success of the Calgary Humane Society is due to the hard work of many dedicated volunteers and staff who share the vision to see a better world for animals in Calgary.
