Martinis and Memories in the Making at "Blue Dog Lounge - Where the SophistiCats are Seen"

Rancho Santa Fe, CA - Martinis pouring down an ice luge, fine food, a champagne and chocolate lounge, and a painting created by world-renowned artist George Rodrigue await guests at Helen Woodward Animal Center's 18th annual Spring Fling entitled "Blue Dog Lounge - Where the SophistiCats are Seen". The Fling will be held on Saturday evening, June 3 in the Fairbanks Village Plaza at 16236 San Dieguito Road in Rancho Santa Fe.

"The Fling combines fun with philanthropy," says Spring Fling Chair Debra Saum. "Guests in the Blue Dog Lounge will meet our Guest of Honor, Blue Dog artist George Rodrigue, and have an opportunity to bid on a Blue Dog painting that George is creating especially for the Spring Fling."

"We're introducing our Spring Fling champagne and chocolate lounge," says HWAC Special Events Supervisor Amy Van Atta. "Guests will also enjoy delectable delights from 20 of the area's finest restaurants judged by San Diego food critic Jack White. KUSI-TV personalities Bridget Naso and Daniel Plante will return as Mistress and Master of Ceremonies for this night of fine food and drink."

Van Atta expects eager bidding during the live and silent auctions on items including memorabilia from the "24" television series signed by Kiefer Sutherland, a Callaway Touring golf bag autographed by the 2006 Masters Champ and local hero Phil Mickelson, and a 7-day trip for two including airfare to Witch's Rock Surf Camp in Costa Rica.

"Blue Dog" seating includes valet parking, fine dining and wine tasting, hosted bars, and dancing until midnight to the music of "NRG" at just $225 per person.

"Platinum Dog" seating at $300 per person includes all the luxuries of Blue Dog plus champagne, preferred VIP seating, express VIP table service, a unique commemorative gift, and an invitation to the special Patron Party at the Del Mar Country Club on Tuesday, May 30th.

"Buy a table of 9 seats and bring your tenth guest for free," says Van Atta. "The Spring Fling is one of the best parties of the year, but we can't lose focus of our goal. We gather for one evening to raise funds that support our programs throughout the year. Buy your tickets now. Bring your friends. Help us to help animals and people in need."

"Special thanks to the Toby Wells Foundation as the Spring Fling Presenting Sponsor," says Saum. "And to Tucker Sadler Architects, the 'Top Dog' sponsor."
