Rancho Santa Fe, CA - Animals, elegance, and artistic treasures await guests at Helen Woodward Animal Center's 18th annual Spring Fling entitled "Blue Dog Lounge.Where the SophistiCats are seen". The event will be held on Saturday, June 3 in the Fairbanks Village Plaza, 16236 San Dieguito Road in Rancho Santa Fe.

"In addition to the artistic charm our guests will experience during their evening in Blue Dog Lounge, they'll also meet our Guest of Honor, world renowned Blue Dog artist George Rodrigue," says Spring Fling Chair Debra Saum. "George and his art will make Blue Dog Lounge a night to remember."

"It will be a night of elegance and sophistication," says Helen Woodward Animal Center Special Events Supervisor Amy Van Atta, "including fine food and drink. KUSI-TV personalities Bridget Naso and Daniel Plante will return as Mistress and Master of Ceremonies. Food from 20 of the area's finest restaurants will be judged by San Diego food critic Jack White."

"Our Live and Silent auctions will be very exciting," says Van Atta. "One auction highlight will be a trip for four to Lions, Tigers and Bears big cat sanctuary via Corporate Helicopters. They will feed a large cat, be treated to a catered lunch, and select which cat they would like painted by Spring Fling Chair and professional artist Debra Saum.

"Blue Dog" seating includes valet parking, fine dining and wine tasting, hosted bars, and dancing until midnight to the music of NRG at just $225 per person.

"Platinum Dog" seating at $300 per person includes all the luxuries of Blue Dog plus champagne, preferred VIP seating, express VIP table service, a unique commemorative gift, and an invitation to the special "Patron's Party" at the Del Mar Country Club on May 30th.

Van Atta offers special thanks to the Toby Wells Foundation and Tucker Sadler Architects as two major sponsors of the Spring Fling.
