“Blue Dog Lounge…Where the SophistiCats are Seen”
the theme for the 2006 Spring Fling
Rancho Santa Fe, CA – SophistiCats, Blue Bloods, and even a few would-be lounge lizards will be “putting on the dog” when they spend an evening at “Blue Dog Lounge…Where the SophistiCats are Seen”. Helen Woodward Animal Center expects seats to sell-out quickly for its 18 th annual Spring Fling black tie fundraiser. The event will be held on Saturday, June 3 in the Fairbanks Village Plaza in Rancho Santa Fe .
“Our theme is upbeat and modern,” says Spring Fling Chair Debra Saum. “But the night will have an air of sophistication, making ‘Blue Dog Lounge’ a night to remember. World renowned ‘Blue Dog’ artist George Rodrigue will be there to share his art and chat with Spring Fling guests.”
“We’ll transform the Fairbanks Village Plaza into the Blue Dog Lounge,” says Helen Woodward Animal Center Special Events Supervisor Amy Van Atta . “Guests will feast on fine food from 20 of the area’s finest restaurants judged by long-time San Diego restaurant reviewer Jack White. They’ll enjoy signature martinis and live entertainment. KUSI-TV personalities Bridget Naso and Daniel Plante will return as Mistress and Master of Ceremonies. Guests will be greeted by orphaned pets and other animals from our programs as they arrive at the Spring Fling.”
“Blue Dog” seating at just 225 dollars per person includes valet parking, fine dining and wine tasting, hosted bars, a commemorative gift, and dancing until midnight to the music of NRG.
Guests in the VIP “Platinum Dog” section at $300 per person will receive all the luxuries of Blue Dog plus a complimentary bottle of champagne at each table, preferred VIP seating, express VIP table service, and an invitation to the Spring Fling Patron Party.
“The Spring Fling is made possible through the generosity of the Toby Wells Foundation,” according to Saum. “Our thanks to Lloyd and Lynn Wells and Toby’s sisters, Adrienne and April. Again this year they have chosen the Spring Fling as a way to honor Toby’s memory and to carry on his love of animals. We’re honored.”
