8th Annual “Pet Rescue Day on the Bay” this Thursday, May 15
Rancho Santa Fe, CA – Hornblower Cruises and Events is joining paws with Helen Woodward Animal Center for the 8th annual, “Pet Rescue Day on the Bay.”
This Thursday, May 15 Hornblower invites the public to donate new or gently-used towels or blankets for the dogs and cats awaiting adoption at HWAC. In exchange each donor will receive a free one-hour Hornblower Cruise. Use your ticket on May 15 at 10:30, 12:30, or 2:30 and you can take your dog along on the cruise.
“What began as a ripple of towel and blanket donations has turned into a tidal wave,” says HWAC spokesman John Van Zante. “We’ve come to depend on our friends at Hornblower for this event that brings us thousands of blankets and towels for the dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens in our kennels.”
“We’ll be accepting donations from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Hornblower ticket booth at 1066 North Harbor Drive on the San Diego Embarcadero,” says Rebecca Milkey, Director of Marketing for Hornblower. “The event is sponsored in part by PETCO, Frosty Paws® Frozen Treats for Dogs, The W Hotel, and the Port of San Diego. Donors will also receive gift bags from PETCO with samples of Frosty Paws® Frozen Treats for Dogs and coupons (while supplies last).”
Milkey adds, “To ride on a cruise a dog must be well-behaved and on a leash. The Bay cruises for dogs and their owners will start at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm.”
