Meadow Lake & District Humane Society was started by concerned citizens the summer of 2003.  We have quickly been able to grow from no shelter at all, to borrowing the town's small and totally inappropriate dog pound, to building a small temporary shelter, to buying (with help of the City of Meadow Lake) a proper dog kennel building to create a great shelter building.  Despite having a great facility, we are run by a very small group of hard working volunteers, taking in animals from all over the northwest of Saskatchewan, Canada.  MLDHS has also been very lucky to be able to adopt a high percentage of our animals to adopters from outside our small population base - even as far away as New York, Ontario, Vancouver and Seattle. 

We are funded only by donations and by doing the poundkeeping for the City of Meadow Lake.  Any and all donations are much appreciated and put to good use.  Please feel free to visit our adoptable animals at www.mldhs.petfinder.com
