Good Times Were Had by All at the Most “Paw-thentic” Fat Tuesday Celebration This Side of the Mississippi!

Helen Woodward Animal Center’s 1st Annual Mardi Paws Parade was a HUGE SUCCESS.  Grand Marshal and canine heroine Sophie led the parade down Bour-bone Street in Cat-on Rouge and ended up in the arms of her new forever family.  Two Center canine alumni were crowned King and Queen of the Mardi Paws Celebration and Center rescue feline alum Moses scored the most votes as our “Fat Tuesday Cat.”  Mardi Paws cakes and cookies for people and “Bow-gnets” (from Three Dog Bakery) for our pups were served along with non-alcoholic Purr-icanes.  Even Halo, the education mini horse, hoofed along the parade route in traditional Barn-ival style. The floats and costumes were simply exquisite.  We can’t wait until next year!   Laissez les bon temps rouler!
