Surf Dog Surf Lesson Registration

Surf San Diego like the surf dogs do. Teach your dog to be a surf dog!

You can teach your dog to surf, and we are here to help! Surfing with your dog is a terrific way to enjoy San Diego summers and make lasting memories. Lessons will have you and your dog in the water with a member of the SoCal Surf Dogs Club, learning basic and advanced techniques from experienced, passionate dog surfers! You can start with our GromMutt class to introduce your dog to the water, or jump right into a Dog Surf Lesson.

Class Description:

Intro to Ocean & Surf Class: Introduce your dog to beach, ocean, and surf in the experienced hands of the SoCal Surf Dogs Club. Tried and true methods will familiarize your dog with sights, sounds and sensations of surf. If your pup isn’t acquainted with the ocean or surfing, this is a fun, easy intro with experienced instructors and San Diego Pet Training on hand for guidance. If your dog has surfing in his soul, you will know, if he doesn’t, you can stick to Frisbee!

GromMUTT Dog Surf Lesson: Is your pup already a salty sea dog? Then take your beach bummin’ to the next level- try surfing with them! These lessons will be taught by SoCal Surf Dogs Club members; passionate, experienced dog surfers. After 20 minutes learning on land, you and you dog will try out the waves with your own pro instructor and two helpers on hand to help you get your dog up on a wave. Safety comes first, so all dogs will be provided life-vests as well as a soft foam surf board for use in the lesson. Dogs of any size and breed are welcome! Multiple dogs per family are welcome, however we require one adult owner to accompany each dog throughout the lesson. They will need you to help them shred!

50-MINUTE CLASSES START AT 10AM, 11AM & 12PM AT DEL MAR DOG BEACH:

June 29 • July 20 • July 27 • August 10 •  August 17 • August 24

There will be a max of 10 dogs in each class, and they’ll fill up fast- REGISTER NOW!

All fees benefit people and animals served by Helen Woodward Animal Center.
