Campaign for Caring Capital Campaign Update

As our Center continues to grow and succeed, the need to ensure that our facilities keep pace with our progressive ideas and with the community’s growing needs has become critical. Waiting lists grow and available space shrinks each year. The current infrastructure no longer meets the needs of our many programs and we have exceeded the capacity of the Center as it currently exists.

Our primary objectives for the Campaign for Caring are to expand existing structures or construct new buildings to enable us to deliver the highest level of care, to further enhance our programs, and to meet the needs of our community.

Phase I of the Campaign was completed in April of 2011 and includes a new state-of-the-art Companion Animal Hospital and administrative offices for staff.

Our focus now is on Phase II and raising the remaining funds necessary to rebuild our aging Adoptions Center to meet the needs of our rapidly expanding program. There are several key features that need to be modified in the new building including a more efficient and private entrance for transfer partners bringing in animals, a larger office for our Adoptions veterinarian for examinations and staff meetings, and a second exam room for use by the rest of the medical team. We also need a larger surgical suite with room for two surgery tables that can be utilized simultaneously. The new kennels will be completely enclosed to protect the animals from the weather while allowing for easy cleaning and access by the staff. Overall, the new facility will be more aesthetically pleasing and enjoyable for visitors, encouraging potential adopters to visit more often and stay longer which will help increase adoptions.

There is a wide range of naming opportunities and giving vehicles available at every level from benches to play yards. Whatever the reason for your special gift, from a love of animals to dedication to a person or pet who has touched your life, there are opportunities remaining to help with this important project while honoring a loved one. Please contact Renee Resko at 858-756-4117, Ext. 347 or reneer@animalcenter.org to discuss current availability and how you can utilize your estate plans to secure one today.
