August 22, 2009: Groundbreaking
On August 22, 2009, the Center held a ceremony celebrating the history and the future of Helen Woodward Animal Center. The ceremony included opening remarks by HWAC President Mike Arms, Chairman of the Board (and Helen’s grandson) Bryce Rhodes, and the actual ground-breaking by two dogs belonging to Board member Togo Hazard. The Center begins its five-year construction project.
