WE NEED YOUR HELP! AniMeals is in need of CANNED pet food, particularly Whiskas, Friskies and Pedigree food for both dogs and cats.

You can help us by donating food at Helen Woodward Animal Center or by dropping your donations in the AniMeals bins ant various PETCO and Vons stores in San Diego County .

Our popular AniMeals program offers free pet food for the dogs and cats of elderly or disabled people throughout San Diego County. AniMeals helps keep people and their companion pets together by removing logistical and financial obstacles to ensure that clients will always be able to provide nutritious meals for their beloved pets. For many homebound individuals, a dog or cat is more than a pet; it can provide friendship, joy, and a reason for living. Studies show that animal ownership also lowers illness levels and mortality rates. The program, which works in cooperation with Meals-on-Wheels and other organizations, began in 1984 and is one of only several like it in the United States. Expanded in 1993, AniMeals now serves pets throughout San Diego County. Dedicated HWAC volunteers pick up, package, and deliver donated pet food.
