Success Stories

Sunny

Where do I begin to tell you about how amazing this dog is. We brought her home on Superbowl sunday, 2/3/08, and changed her name to Sunny. She has been more than we could have dreamed was possible. She was housebroken from day 1, and seemed to have some familiarity with other basic commands. She
currently is obeying all the standard commands, and is sure to be the validvictorian of her obedience class she is currently enrolled in. It's also been quite amazing that she has only barked 2 times that we can confirm
since we brought her home.
She has an amazing personality and is always smiling. She is kind, respectful, smart, adorable, and we love her. Thanks Helen woodward for giving us our little ray of sunshine. I have attached some recent photos.

Fantasia

I wanted to send you some pictures of my little girl. She's a joy. Except, she isn't Fantasia anymore - that was an awful lot of name for such a little bit of a girlie. Her name is now Missy. She knows and responds to it quite well. Missy is a love, she wants to please, and she loves her momma and daddy (and we love her very, very much). She has several very good friends here - a second momma in my next door neighbor, and very good friend in my neighbor on the other side (and her male dog is Missy's boyfriend). There's a man down the street who gives her little treats whenever he comes around - and he even came and stayed with her when I had a doctor's appointment the other day.

Missy is very energetic, loves her evening walks with her daddy and is very good on her gentle leader leash. She is also extremely smart - something we have to watch out for, because we don't want her getting into something she shouldn't. Since she spends all of her time with me, she is very protective and very watchful. I don't go anywhere in this house that she's not following.

About the only thing that she doesn't like so far is riding in the car - she gets so nervous and so drooly! But, I'm hoping that will change over time and with practice.

I'm throwing in some pictures so you can all see how she's grown, and I want to remind you that I am working on some snuggle blankets which I will be sending along to you in time.

Thank you,

Missy's Momma

Joey

My husband and I adopted Joey on May 5th. He has been an excellent addition to our home and little family! He was quick to sleep in his crate and is doing wonderfully with becoming house broken. He had his first visit to the vet the week after we had him, and he already weighed 24 pounds at 10 weeks! He plans on being a big dog!

Ponch, our 8 year old Doberman mix, was a little apprehensive at first, but put Joey in his place right away. About 10 days after Joey came home with us, Ponch figured Joey was here to stay, and they have become great playmates. Ponch has also been wonderful at teaching Joey the rules of the house. While they have had their share of mischief, they are truly great dogs!

Currently, Joey is working on learning his first trick; Sit! He is smart and is sure to learn lots of good behaviors!

We would just like to thank all of the staff at Helen Woodward Animal Center for assisting us in adopting Joey. It is obvious that everybody there truly cares about each animal finding their forever home! We are happy to say Joey has found his!

Sincerely,

Erica
