Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Pet of the Week

Helen Woodward Animal Center Pet-of-the-Week for February 23th, 2015

Irresistible “Artie” Needs Your Advice!

“How do I put my best paw forward?” Artie wants some advice for when he first meets families at the Center. Should he show how excited he is, or play it cool? How will they know that he’s already leash and potty-trained? Should he show off his flawless “sit” and “stay” commands? Can he cuddle right away? Or is that too forward? We just tell him to be himself. Artie, you are irresistible!

Artie is an 8-year old, 22lb Beagle/Chihuahua blend, and he’s waiting to meet you at Helen Woodward Animal Center. He has been altered and is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. His adoption fee is $284, and, as with all pets adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Center, he is micro-chipped for identification. As an added bonus, he also comes with two free passes to Sea World!

Helen Woodward Animal Center is located at 6461 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe. Kennels are open daily Monday throughThursday from 12pm to 6pm; Fridays from noon to 6pm; Saturdays 10am to 6pm; and Sunday 11am to 6pm (last application accepted 15 minutes before closing). For more information call 858-756-4117, option #1.

ANIMALS OF SPRING KIDS' EVENTS MAR 1 - 29, 2015

The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer, and the animals are out to play- it must be SPRING! During this 90 minute tour, groups will meet and interact with 4 spring-time (and even baby!) animals while learning all about life cycles. At the end of the tour, each child will get to plant a seedling of their own to take home and watch grow!

About Helen Woodward Animal Center

Helen Woodward Animal Center is a private, non-profit organization where “people help animals and animals help people.” Founded in 1972 in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., the Center provides services for more than 57,000 people and thousands of animals annually through adoptions, educational and therapeutic programs both on-site and throughout the community. Each week, we feature a great dog or cat looking for a new family they are called Helen Woodward Animal Center’s “Pet of the Week!” Our animals are transferred to us through a cat rescue or a dog rescue group that needs help, through an overcrowded animal shelter where they simply would have “run out of time,” or even through a surrender by a family or individual. Our Pet of the Week is always a beautiful and wonderful animal looking to be adopted into his or her new family. Visit our online animal adoption center to view all up to date animal adoption opportunities!
