Add “Hamlet” to Your Cast of Charactors!
Meet Hamlet, Pet-of-the-Week at Helen Woodward Animal Center! Expect no Shakespearean drama from this lovable bundle. We like to think his name is inspired more by his “little piggy” appetite than any theatrical legend. At 6 years old, and 12lbs. this Chihuahua blend is a joyful boy, known for making happy little “oink” noises when you scratch his back and giving other pups friendly “hello” sniffs. Those eyes melting your heart? Come meet him today!
Hamlet is waiting to meet you at Helen Woodward Animal Center. He has been neutered and is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. His adoption fee is $269 and, as with all pets adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Center, he is micro chipped for identification. As an added bonus, Hamlet also comes with two free passes to Sea World!
Helen Woodward Animal Center is located at 6461 El Apajo Road in Rancho Santa Fe. Kennels are open daily Monday through Thursday from 12pm to 6pm; Fridays from noon to 7pm; Saturdays 10am to 6pm; and Sunday 11am to 6pm (last application accepted 15 minutes before closing). Join Us for Pet Day on the Bay! Hornblower’s popular, pup-friendly Pet Day on San Diego Bay promises a tail-wagging good time during its 13th annual presentation on Saturday, May 18, 2013. The only event of its kind in southern California, this is the one time each year that Hornblower invites dogs to cruise for free with their owners. A portion of the proceeds from the event benefits orphaned animals at Helen Woodward Animal Center and guests are also encouraged to contribute a gently used blanket or towel to donate to the Center. Well-behaved dogs of all sizes and breeds are welcome for Hornblower’s Pet Day cruises. Each adult ticket ($24 price) includes an invitation to bring one dog as a FREE guest! Visit Hornblower for more info!
Why Do We Choose a Pet of the Week?
Each week, Helen Woodward Animal Center features a special dog or cat looking for a new family. Our featured pet may be selected by our adoptions staff or by our volunteers. These pets are often transferred to us through a cat rescue or a dog rescue group that has sought our help with placing the homeless pet who was “running out of time” in an overcrowded shelter. They are usually adult dogs or cats (puppies and kittens get adopted so quickly, they don’t have time to be featured!), who are selected because we feel that they deserve some special attention and may not be getting as many visits as they merit to show off their unique and wonderful qualities. Our Pet of the Week is always a beautiful and extraordinary pet looking to be adopted into his or her new family.
